The use of environmental measuring equipment is one of the most important equipment needed to work with ionization radiation. Garfield software has been used to simulate an environmental ion chamber. This software consists of a combination of several programs for calculating the electric field, electron transfer characteristics and determining the path of ionization in the detector. The ion chamber is designed with a cylindrical geometry with air medium at atmospheric pressure and Sensitive volume 30 cm3. Material used for anode are tungsten with gold coated. The wall of the ion chamber used C552 to the thickness of the accumulation in which the electron balance condition is established is simulated. The saturation voltage of the ion chamber is 250 V and the anode diameter is 100 μm and the output current of the detector is 200 Nano amperes. The ion chamber with cylindrical geometry is faster and lower in saturation and produces the unit load.
